In this talk, we will start by looking at a general picture of how psychoactive drugs affect the brain. Then Dean will go through the most popular classes of drugs (opioids, stimulants, sedatives, MDMA, psychedelics, cannabis and dissociatives), describing the major advantages and risks of each. Next he will offer some scientifically informed advice on dosing and combining substances. Finally, together we'll try to get a handle on the elusive psychological factors that often make the difference between good and bad drugs experiences.
