Science of Psychedelics
The Science of Psychedelics with Dr David Luke
What Seed Talks are saying about their upcoming event:
The traditional use of psychoactive plants and fungi for spiritual and shamanic rituals has occurred for thousands of years, whereas the Western scientific research of these substances has only been explored in the last 100 years, and prohibition stalled the last 50 years of this.
In this talk you will be introduced to the science of these traditional psychedelics along with their modern counterparts first synthesized in the 20th century.
Now that scientific research is resuming, what do psychedelics tell us about the weirder side of human consciousness, and what can be learned from the traditional shamanic practices with these substances? Find this out and more in this enlightening talk…

Drug Checking
What The Loop say about their monthly drug-checking service:
The Loop's regular drug checking service, the first in the UK, takes place every last Saturday of the month in Bristol. The Loop team, chemists and healthcare staff, complete drug testing in our mobile laboratory and provide harm reduction advice and consultations informed by the testing of submitted substances. We're living in a time of disconnect from the more-than-human world and place-based knowledge of our own lands. In this talk, philosopher and researcher Caspar Montgomery will question what it means to cultivate traditions and how to create modern-day psychedelic rituals that are fit for a world that is only going to get weirder. He will discuss our evolving relationship with nature, tradition, and indigenous wisdom in psychedelia and beyond.

SPM Conference
The Spirit Plant Medicine Conference
What SPM Conference say about their event:
Life on planet Earth is changing faster than most of us could possibly have imagined only a few short years ago. The need for new (and ancient) visions of wisdom and compassion is greater than ever. When understood and used in optimal conditions and effectively integrated into the daily walk, the psychedelic, sacramental healing and awakening plants and related substances are arguably the most potent allies and tools available to struggling humanity in these tumultuous times.
But these powerful substances are not the story itself. At their best they are in service of this overarching vision and urgent need for a “turning of the wheel.” We at the Spirit Plant Medicine Conference are passionately committed to providing a platform for the sharing of insight and wisdom toward this vision and prayer for humanity, for all inhabitants of the planet, and for the Earth itself.
One of the defining and all but unique features of the beloved SPMC is its diversity and its range of perspectives on psychedelics and consciousness transformation. Each year we have a more or less equal balance of female and male presenters with significant indigenous and BIPOC representation. Our speakers have included ceremonialists, therapists, philosophers, mystics, advocates, activists, and academics – always with a keen eye on sharing “actionable” information and inspiration for individual and collective healing for a planet in transition.
